I want to wish everyone good luck on their final exams this week! Finish out the semester strong!
I also would like to thank all of you for a great semester. You have been patient with me as we have both adjusted to a new school, and I appreciate it. I hope that you enjoyed my class and learned a few things along the way. I know I was tough on you the whole way, and you probably hated me most of the time, but I hope that as you continue on at Heritage, you'll see that it benefited you. If you are willing, please fill out my course evaluation form at http://tinyurl.com/TurleyCourseEvals. It is optional, but it helps give me feedback for future classes. Good luck next semester and don't be strangers! Feel free to stop by anytime and let me know if you need anything!

You have three days you can choose from to come (you only need to pick one): Tuesday 1/5, Thursday 1/7, and Friday 1/8. I will be working on getting grades caught up over break. Please be patient with me while I do this. Just like you, I am also going to try and relax and spend time with family over break. The grades will be there. Just be patient. If you are interested in studying for the final exam over break (which I definitely recommend), the study guide has been posted on the English I page and on the right side of this page. I'll have paper copies for everyone on Monday when we return (I would have had them today, but my copy limit ran out and I had to put in a request to get more which won't go through until next week). I hope everyone has a great break and a happy holiday. Be ready to finish up our semester when you get back! Today was one heck of a day, wasn't it?!!
Today we met in the media center and typed up our argumentative essays. Students were required to submit essays before leaving class. If students were here but did not submit an essay at the end of class, they will need to see me because the essay will not be accepted late. If you were absent, you'll need to schedule a time with me to stay after school for an hour and a half to type your essay. It will need to happen the week that we come back from break. Over the last month, I've noticed that Powerschool is changing the assignment dates that I put in for our assignments. It typically says the assignment is due a day earlier than what I actually say. I've tried changing it and it somehow ends up changing itself again to a day earlier than I want. I have no figured out what is going on with it, so please just pay attention to the due dates that I post on my website and in my classroom. If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.
